CVMC's Central Valley Home Health and Hospice Nurse, JulieAnn Parkin, Named Nurse of the Year by Utah's HHAU.

Nephi, UT August 6, 2021 – The Homecare and Hospice Association of Utah (HHAU) announced that Julieann Parkin, RN at CVMC Central Valley Home Health and Hospice, Nephi, UT was named the 2020 Nurse of the Year. Julieann is a registered nurse and was recognized for the invaluable work that she has done for her agency.

“When I saw the opportunity to recognize someone from our agency for this accomplishment I jumped at the chance to nominate her,” said Bob Guillory, Home Health and Hospice Director at CVMC. “Julieann Parkin has been working at Central Valley Home Health and Hospice for over 14 years. She is the epitome of a caring, competent nurse. I can't fulfill everyone's request for her to be their nurse. She is consumed with the welfare of her patients. She continually goes above and beyond in every aspect of patient care. I have seen her weep for her Hospice patients when they pass. I first met Julieann Parkin when she was the hospice nurse for my friend. She was so kind and knew exactly what to say with every question the family had. I am now her boss, and can truly say I am privileged to know her as a friend and a boss. She has taught me so much in the 3.5 years I've been here at the agency. I am a better person for knowing her.”

HHAU was formed from two previous groups, UAHC and UHPCO, and continues its mission of supporting and promoting Utah’s home-based health, hospice, and personal care industries. The association is led by a volunteer board composed of many of Utah’s homecare and hospice providers. Staff members put out a lot of effort to do a great job for their agencies and should be recognized on a grander scale.
