What Is Internal Medicine? Meet CVMC’s Dr. Dallin Ollerton

If you’ve ever wondered, “What exactly is Internal Medicine?” you’re not alone.

Internal Medicine focuses on the health and medical care of adults. Internal Medicine physicians, often called internists, are trained to prevent, diagnose and manage a wide range of health conditions, from routine health needs to chronic and more complex medical concerns.

At Central Valley Medical Center, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Dallin Ollerton to our medical team and expand access to Internal Medicine care for adults in our community.

Your Partner in Adult Health

You don’t have to be sick to see an Internal Medicine physician. In fact, one of Dr. Ollerton’s areas of focus is helping patients stay healthy through preventive care, regular screenings and early identification of potential health concerns.

Internal Medicine care can include:

• Annual wellness visits and routine checkups
• Preventive screenings and health risk assessments
• High blood pressure and cholesterol management
• Diabetes care
• Heart and cardiovascular health
• Medication management
• Management of chronic or multiple health conditions
• Evaluation of new or unexplained symptoms
• Coordination with specialists when additional care is needed

For adults managing several health concerns at once, an Internal Medicine physician can also help bring the pieces together by looking at the whole picture rather than treating each concern in isolation.
