At Central Valley Medical Center, we are proud to introduce our newest team member: the Da Vinci 5 Surgical Robot — state-of-the-art technology that is transforming the way surgery is performed at CVMC.
This robotic-assisted system enhances our surgeons’ capabilities in minimally invasive procedures, providing unmatched precision, flexibility, and control. The Da Vinci system allows for smaller incisions, faster recovery times, and better outcomes for our patients.
The Da Vinci 5 is the latest generation in robotic-assisted surgical systems. It is designed to help surgeons perform complex procedures with more accuracy and control than traditional techniques. While the robot does not perform surgery on its own, it translates the surgeon's hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body.
Our robotic-assisted system is used across a wide range of specialties, including:
Urological Surgery
Gynecologic Surgery
Abdominal & Gastrointestinal Surgery
From hysterectomies and hernia repairs to prostate and gallbladder procedures, the Da Vinci 5 expands our capability to provide high-quality surgical care, right here at home.
Patients undergoing robotic-assisted procedures may experience:
Better Access & Improved Visualization – High-definition 3D views allow surgeons to see with greater clarity.
Enhanced Precision – Minimally invasive instruments move with extreme accuracy.
Fewer Complications – Smaller incisions reduce infection risks and blood loss.
Faster Recovery – Patients often go home sooner with less pain and scarring.
“The procedures and capabilities that this machine can give to our surgeons is nothing like CVMC has seen before.”
— Alisha Foster, CVMC Head of Surgery
CVMC is proud to be one of the few rural hospitals in Utah offering access to the Da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to deliver exceptional, personalized care with cutting-edge innovation.
