He graduated summa cum laude from Utah Valley University and earned his medical degree from the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. He completed a transitional year at Las Palmas Del Sol in El Paso, Texas, followed by his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
