February is Heart Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease and encouraging preventive care. At Central Valley Medical Center, our focus this month is on Care that knows your heart. Heart health is personal, and understanding your individual risk is an important step in protecting your long term health.
Heart disease remains the number one cause of death for women and men in the United States. Many people are unaware they are at risk until symptoms appear. That is why early detection, education, and preventive screenings are essential.
Supporting Heart Health in Our Community
Throughout February, CVMC is working to increase awareness and provide access to heart health resources close to home. One of the key ways we are doing this is by offering coronary calcium scans for only $65 during the month of February.
A coronary calcium scan is a quick, non invasive imaging test that helps identify calcium buildup in the arteries. This information can help assess a person’s risk for heart attack and guide future care decisions with their provider.
Patients who have had a coronary calcium scan within the past 2 years should consult with their doctor to determine whether a repeat scan is appropriate before scheduling.
Partnering With Local Students for Heart Health
We are proud to partner with JHS Student Government as they host their 3rd Annual Heart Walk in support of Heart Health Month.

This partnership highlights the impact that community involvement and education can have on preventive health.
Go Red for Women
As part of Heart Health Month, CVMC proudly supports the Go Red for Women movement, which brings attention to the impact of heart disease on women. On Friday, Feb 6th, during Heart Health Month, CVMC staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support and help raise awareness.
Care That Knows Your Heart
Heart health is not one size fits all. At CVMC, we believe care should be personal, accessible, and rooted in understanding the people we serve. Whether through education, screenings, or community partnerships, we are committed to providing care that truly knows your heart.
