Central Sterile Processing Technician

Duties for This Position
As part of the surgical services team, the sterile processing technician
is responsible for checking, assembling, and ensuring instruments are
sterile and functioning properly prior to surgical procedures. Must operate
various pieces of equipment needed to sterilize surgical instruments and
other items needed within the hospital setting. Assists with maintaining
equipment and instruments as well as with supply inventory.
High School Diploma or GED
One year experience in central processing preferred. Will train right person.
Must be flexible in a demanding environment. Must be able to prioritize
and use good judgment while remaining calm during times of crisis. Strong
organizational skills are required and the ability to coordinate a variety
of pressing issues with frequent interruptions. Requires the ability to
stand for long periods of time.
