What is Orthopedic Medicine?

Orthopedic medicine is a branch of medicine which is concerned with the functioning of the musculoskeletal system. The framework of the human body is comprised of hundreds of joints and muscles. When even one of these intricate connections is injured, whether by trauma or degenerative disease, your whole body can feel the effects.

Orthopedic surgeons at CVMC specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of the musculoskeletal system disorders including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. Whenever possible, we exhaust non-operative treatment before recommending surgery, but when it becomes necessary; our surgeons provide advanced joint replacements, reconstruction, and more.
